How to get to Acquaviva
You can reach Acquaviva in several ways:
the closest railway station is the one in Montepulciano, 3 km away. At the station you can call a taxi (with a cell phone) to take you home.
Montepulciano is on the Empoli-Siena-Chiusi rail line and is about 10 minute car drive away from Chiusi.
If you come by car and your are coming from the North, you have to exit the Autostrada del Sole (A1) at Valdichiana, then follow the signs to Torrita di Siena/Montepulciano(via Nottola). After the villages of Bettolle and Torrita (always following the direction Chiusi), you enter the Municipality of Montepulciano, then you cross the hamlets of Abbadia and Gracciano and you reach the Nottola cross-road (Hospital). At this point, take the road on the left (via Cassia ss.2bis) following the sign to Acquaviva. After 3 km, you reach the center of Acquaviva.
Via Giulia is the second road on the right of the main street (Via Fratelli Braschi), just before the church.
Casa Bisti is right at the end (end gate) of Via Giulia.
If you are coming from the South, you have to exit the Autostrada del sole (A1) at Chiusi and take the road to Chiusi.
Just before entering town (where there is the town name sign), there is a cross-road on the left, with the sign Acquaviva. Drive on for about 13 km, crossing the villages of Montallese and Tre Berte. You will then enter Acquaviva: follow the main street (Via Fratelli Braschi) and, after the church, on the second road (via Giulia) turn left. Casa Bisti is right at the end (end gate) of Via Giulia.
What to find in Acquaviva
Casa Bisti is located in a quiet area of Acquaviva, where you can enjoy the peace of the Tuscan countryside and yet, at the same time, you are quite close to all services and shops that you may need on a daily basis.
Food shops (Despar and Coop supermarkets, bakery, butcher “Giuliano e Siliana”, etc.) are all a few hundreds of meters away, just like the chemist’s and the tobacconist/newsagent. Go to the main street (Via Fratelli Braschi ) and ask for more directions.
In the village there is also a very good restaurant “L’Angolo”, which is also easy to find (www.langoloilpiccoloresidence.it). Paolo, who has been running this family-owned restaurant for several years now, has significantly raised its quality without compromising on the warmth, friendliness, and hospitality that have always characterized it. His mother and sister run the kitchen with a lot of passion. Here, you can taste “pici”, a traditional pasta dish still hand made as in ancient times.
If you go for dinner, it’s better if you reserve a table calling the following number: 0578 767216
There is also a good sportswear shop in Acquaviva, “Hobby Sport”, also located in via F.lli Braschi.
